Sunflower Montessori is Brussels leading Montessori pre-school centre. Located in the heart of Forest and set in a beautiful town house Sunflower provides the very best setting for your child.
We welcome children from 0 to 6 years of age, and we are bi-lingual (English/French). Our qualified team of educators are dedicated to helping your child reach its full potential.
Montessori puts the child at the centre of their educational journey and so do we. Our safe and stimulating environment encourages your child to explore and learn and our educators are honoured to be part of this unique journey. Despite its central location Sunflower has a wonderful and secluded garden. We spend as much time outdoors as the weather allows. All food is included and the children enjoy a healthy and balanced lunch each day as well as snacks and fruit.

Daisies
3 to 18 months
This is where our youngest children are welcomed each day. At Sunflower we realise how difficult it is for new parents to entrust their baby to someone else’s care. We do everything we possibly can to make this transition for your baby and for you as easy and joyful as possible.
Of course, if you are a nursing mum you are more than welcome to come at any time to feed your baby. When your baby starts at Sunflower, we will ask you to describe their routine so that we can adapt to the exact needs of your baby. All the food, drinks and nappies are provided by Sunflower.
We will also help your child to become toilet trained when the time is right. Sunflower considers it a privilege to be given your trust, and we are here to make your baby happy and cared for in her “second home”.
Cornflowers
18 months to 3 years
A hub of learning and play. The Montessori classroom is an environment that is prepared for your child. Your child has freedom of movement and freedom of choice.
This is very important in the Montessori method as your child chooses what she will do and when she will do it. The environment is ordered and attractive.
In each Sunflower Montessori classroom learning materials are arranged invitingly on low, open shelves. Our classrooms are not rooms with some Montessori equipment, we carefully plan & prepare each room so that it provides an enriching experience for each particular age group. Our classrooms are environments that provide challenges & interests for your developing child.
Tulips
3 to 6 years
This is where our oldest children truly blossom and become prepared for school. 3 to 6 years is the most well-known mixed Montessori age group.
This three-year cycle allows younger children to observe and learn from older peers, while older children reinforce their learning by helping the younger. Considerable attention is paid to the prepared environment and the children are free to choose their own activities which are all carefully designed to stimulate their curiosity, fine motor skills and intellectual development.
Garden time is a key component at Sunflower and we spend every moment the weather allows in the fresh air and nature.
